Prime Watch: The Idea of You

Recently released on Amazon Prime Video, a romantic movie (A), The Idea of You, starring Anne Hathaway as the protagonist, is a must watch, especially for those born in the early 1980s. There is a dialogue between the characters Solene and Tracy which goes something like, “I didn’t know my being happy would piss so many people off.” To which the reply is, “People hate happy women.” I think it pretty much summarizes various issues women face.

The meanness and the ignorance across age groups is almost always palpable in the comments section of various social media platforms. Without knowing or even bothering to understand the whole story, some people comment just after reading the headlines. The palette of innumerable shades of hypocrisy on the many social media platforms is well depicted in the movie.

While commenting on a post, some just forget to reflect on their own lives, which maybe in the deepest of the deep s**t. However, it is so much fun to make a mockery of someone else’s life, especially that of a woman, and if that woman happens to be a decent-successful-smart-intelligent-independent person—a combination very difficult to accept as such personalities are conveniently labelled as intimidating, while the one who labels is an absolute insecure individual, be it a man or a woman, no matter what the age.

Entertaining movie. Great actors. Lively songs. Beautiful house. And a much-needed plot.

Until next, enjoy the movie…

Virgin River | Season 5

#Can’tResist #BingeWatch #FirstDayShow #Netflix #7September2023

I have tried to summarize #VirginRiver in five hashtags.
Yes, Season 5 was worth the wait.

Some new introductions. Some old relations end.

Some new wounds. Some old wounds healed.

Some new spots. Some old spots burnt.

Some new twists. Some old secrets out.

Some new associations. Some old ones renewed.

Some new full moon memories. Some old full moon memories erased.

This time instead of a song, the thoughts that stayed with me were the words of Lydie while discussing life and age in #LittleGirlsTripToTheSpa in Episode 4: Never Gonna Be The Same.

“You know I always felt pressure to hold tightly to my youth. And then, one day, I woke up and I thought – Why am I torturing myself? Everyone gets to be young. But not everyone is lucky to grow old.”

Yes, well said Lydie.

As always, I plan to watch the season for at least twice again!

Until next, #NewFullMoonMemories…

Four languages – German, Turkish, Croatian and English, all blended so well in the script that the multilingual aspect of the movie never gets in the way of enjoying the movie.

I have watched a lot of content on various OTT platforms. However, Faraway—this Netflix movie is one of the best recent releases on my watch list.

Generally romantic movies tend to show the polished-refined-glamorous side of the lives with all characters looking perfect, body perfect, with perfect houses and cars, etc. etc. Faraway is pretty far-away from the unrealistic version of life.

To see characters as is in life is relatable. The movie is a clutter breaker amongst the sea of romantic movies; a clutter in itself, but a beautiful clutter.

What stayed with me is the line…“Is your heart a sponge or a fist?”

Watch the movie for the answer, and well-answered it is!

Movie: Faraway, A Netflix Movie
Casting – Excellent.
Storyline – Different.
Location – Picturesque.
Romance – A unique version.
Humour – Realistic, Sarcastic.
Language – Multilingual, with subtitles in English.
Background Score – Apt choice of songs. Wishing Girl by Lola Marsh is my favourite, but I liked all the songs.
Likes – Double Likes!

Until next, maybe it’s worth asking, is my heart, a sponge or a fist?

Tell me…

I never knew I would cry when I heard your name.

And now I’m running to your heart because I feel the pain.

We found the devil in our love, we found the way.

Why do I feel like you’re with me everywhere I lay?

Tell me where your heart is, tell me where you keep it, tell me where it stays.

Tell me where your heart is, tell me where you keep it, tell me where it stays.

It feels like a ghost is walking on my grave.

If only you knew how long I’d wait.

It makes me really angry when you can’t relate.

Makes me feel like you’re living and I’m awake.

So tell me where your heart is, tell me where you keep it, tell me where it stays.

Tell me where your heart is, tell me where you keep it, tell me where it stays.

Tell me where your heart is, tell me where you keep it, tell me where it stays.

Tell me where your heart is, tell me where you keep it, tell me where it stays.

Oh oh oh oh ehhh…

Woho yeah, oh oh oh oh hey ye ehhh…

When we’re not together, I’m so afraid.

When we’re not together, I’m so afraid.

So tell me where your heart is, tell me where you keep it, tell me where it stays.

Tell me where your heart is, tell me where you keep it, tell me where it stays.

Oooh, tell me where your heart is, tell me where you keep it, tell me where it stays.

Ohaa, tell me where your heart is, tell me where you keep it, tell me where it stays.

Ohho, tell me where your heart is, tell me where you keep it, tell me where it stays.

Ooho, tell me where your heart is, tell me where you keep it, tell me where it stays.

And this song is my new obsession—listening to this song back to back to back to back….and back. That’s what I have done most part of the day, today.

Thank you Virgin River Team for introducing the song, Where It Stays, is by Charlotte Mary O’Connor (the lyrics as above and the song in the YouTube hyperlink.) It is just beautiful. And perfect as the background soundtrack for the Season 2, Episode 2 Ending.

Virgin River TV Series on Netflix is based on the Virgin River novel series by Robyn Carr. I wish I could read the books someday but for now I am all glued to the series. So far two seasons of 10 episodes each, you can watch on Netflix. I like Martin Henderson (last seen him on Grey’s Anatomy). I now like Alexandra Breckenridge as well. Honestly, in Virgin River, I like all the characters, but love Jack & Mel and Hope & Doc. Each one of them, positive or negative, or somewhere-in-between, has done a great job. Beautiful location. Perfect cabin. So far I have seen the series almost thrice. I hope the next season is released soon enough. (Image Credit: Screenshots from Netflix Streaming in collage.)

Until next, well I am in woah yeah, oh oh oh oh hey ye ehhh mood! 🙂
