Every day…

Every day is a new day. That’s what the cover of my sunshine gratitude journal reads. I bought it sometime last year from The Art Loom, however, I am yet to write in it. What better day than today to start journaling!

Sun…Sky…Aasmaan…Sky is the limit…

Some affirmations, some thoughts, some hopes…with this I begin the new year with a Happy Mind for a Happy Life.

Wishing all my readers a very Happy New Year!

2022: A Prayer

Dear Almighty,

It’s the same me, yet another year.

It’s the same book, yet another chapter.

It’s the same life, yet another possibility.

Oh Lord,

Let this year be blessed.

Let this chapter be beautiful.

Let this possibility be bright.

Ya Rab,

Guide me to be, the peace and kindness, that I wish to receive.

Amen.

Sunshine 20.20

Ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone.
It’s not warm when she’s away.

Ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone,
And she’s always gone too long,
Anytime she goes away.

Wonder this time where she’s gone.
Wonder if she’s gone to stay.

Ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone,
And this house just ain’t no home,
Anytime she goes away.

I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,
I know, I know…hey, I oughta leave young thing alone…
But ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone.

Ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone,
Only darkness every day.

Ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone,
And this house just ain’t no home,
Anytime she goes away.

Anytime she goes away.
Anytime she goes away.
Anytime she goes away.

The first time I heard this song was as a background score in the movie, Notting Hill. A beautiful song, lovely lyrics. And the lyrics go perfectly well with the scene that starts with a pregnant woman selecting clothes to ending with her smiling and carrying the baby in her arms, while throughout, there has been many changes—of seasons and relations, yet William Thacker (Hugh Grant) keeps walking, adjusting his jacket to the rising and falling temperature, and thinking, and reminiscing, and missing, Anna Scott (Julia Roberts). The Bill Withers song is from a 1971 album Just As I Am, over a decade before I was born. So my information is Wikipedia based, hence the link/hyperlink for those interested in the details. But the movie is my generation movie, one of my all time favourites.

Well, no one has ever called me Sunshine. That made me think, “Do I have to be someone’s Sunshine?” and the answer was, “Yes, No, May be”. ‘Yes’ and ‘May Be’ means waiting. And waiting can mean worrying. And worrying is a wasted emotion; it brings nothing, while takes away time. Thus, ‘No’ point waiting. Hence, I have decided to be My Sunshine. And yes, if that sunshine fades then there will be darkness and coldness within and around me, and I wouldn’t want that, not now, not ever.

This New Year,
it is the New Me,
the Metamorphosed Me,
the Sunshine Me,
the New Version Me:
Version 20.20, Sunshine 20.20.

Wishing you all Sunshine, Warmth and Brightness, within and around you, every day.
Happy 2020 my friends!

Hello 2018!

Hello2018_GSH_AshuBlogs_Panorama

Dear Readers,

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year, filled with pleasant surprises, good luck and cheerful laughter!

This year I will be adding three new sections to Panorama…

A. Gurlz Day Out, that will be me hanging out with my friends…

B. Healthcare Marketing – as I think, by now I have enough experience and knowledge to write on this subject–a subject on which someone has to write, so why not me!!

C. Bombayccino (read Bombay-chino)- my fashion centric blog, but I have realised it is not possible to manage two blogs, therefore, I am introducing it as a sub-section here with link to the main blog. It will have conversations on style over cups of cappuccino in Bombay…Mumbai…Meri Jaan, My Life!!!

Hope you will enjoy reading Panorama…

Till my next post, take care…

When In Doubt, Chuck It Out!

“Asma, remember, when in doubt, just chuck it out sweetie.” – That’s something my colleague kept repeating while we edited articles, press releases, news pieces, interviews, product updates, etc., etc., etc. Amazingly, it always worked out well. And just in an year, her favourite quote has become my favourite quote.

Initially, I applied this principle to my writing and editing only. But for the past few weeks, I have been practically applying this to other aspects of life—chucking out unnecessary comments, frenemies, any unusual behaviour, somebody’s never changing attitude, ego hassles, work politics, etc., etc., etc…and it is working! Sometimes this acts as a life saver, sometimes time saver, sometimes an easy solution to a difficult problem, sometimes mood elevator, and sometimes, simply fun. 🙂

So, these days whenever I am in doubt, I usually resort to chucking it out. It helps; at least it has till now. But personally I feel always chucking out may not be the only solution. At times one must also check out the facts before chucking out. 😉

Well, this chucking and checking business is very interesting—interesting enough that I plan to include it in my New Year Resolution List…something different, easy, simple, and of course, helpful and possibly entertaining!

And, till I master the art of chucking and checking, you all have a great fun filled happy week, happy weekend, happy holidays, happy winter and a very Happy New Year! 😀

What Is Your Resolution This Year?

Every year ends with a regret of not sticking to that year’s resolution and every year begins with yet another resolution. So what is your resolution this year? Oh yes, I know you have one!

Giving up smoking or may be drinking or probably both…

Exercising regularly …

Cutting on calories and eating a healthy diet…

Reducing the baby fat finally…

Brushing/flossing your teeth every day (yes, I know we don’t skip this) and night (is skipped at times)…

Arriving on time and reducing the late marks you had last year…

Forgiving foes, making more friends…

Making right investments…

Saving water, electricity, petrol…environment…

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

…the list goes on!

“May all your troubles last as long as your New Year’s resolutions.”

– Joey Adams

Well, I pray that troubles, if any, last for minimal duration as I intend to stick to my resolutions (all except the first as I do not smoke or drink ;)) this year till the next year, and if need be, then a little longer.

“Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.”

– Oprah Winfrey

I will try to get it right and wish good luck to you all for the same!

I wish all my dear readers A Very Happy, Healthy, Wealthy, Prosperous & Wonderful 2010!
